Job summary

M. G. Newell Corporation, a family-owned enterprise with a legacy in automation solutions, seeks a Controls Technician to collaborate with engineering teams on customised projects.

You will configure electrical/pneumatic systems, troubleshoot controls, and support programming of PLCs and HMIs while helping to update CAD drawings. Ideal candidates will have an Associate's degree in Mechatronics or equivalent experience, CAD experience, and willingness to travel ~40% to serve customers and

Qualifications

• Associates degree in Mechatronics or equivalent experience.
• Electrical license preferred or in process.
• Background or training in industrial control systems is preferred.
• Experience with CAD e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Creo, Inventor.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office applications.
• Willingness to travel up to 40% to customer and vendor facilities.
• Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
• Cultural fit with a family-owned enterprise.

Responsibilities

• Configure and troubleshoot electrical and pneumatic systems safely.
• Configure and troubleshoot sensors, instruments, valves, and VFDs.
• Build, configure, and troubleshoot control, IO, drive, and HMI panels.
• Work with Electrical Designers to update CAD drawings.
• Assist others in PLC and HMI application programming.
• PLC programming, configuration, and troubleshooting.
• HMI programming, configuration, and troubleshooting.
• MS Windows troubleshooting; server/workstation support.
• Network troubleshooting and switch configuration.
• Follow MG Newell safety practices on site and in shop.
