Additional Information*
The base salary for this position will vary based on geography and other factors. In accordance with law, the base salary for this role if filled within Charlotte, NC is $90k - $100k/year & benefits (see below).
The Role
Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable test automation frameworks using Playwright.
- Create and execute automated test scripts for web applications, APIs, and end-to-end business workflows.
- Collaborate with developers, business analysts, and QA teams to define testing strategies and quality standards.
- Develop data-driven, reusable, and maintainable automation solutions following best practices.
- Integrate automated test suites into CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, or GitLab.
- Develop API automation tests using Playwright, REST Assured, Postman, or similar tools.
- Analyze test results, identify defects, and work closely with development teams to ensure timely resolution.
- Monitor automation execution, reporting, and test coverage metrics to improve software quality.
- Support release validation, production testing, and continuous quality improvement initiatives
Requirements:
- 5+ years of Quality Engineering or Test Automation experience with at least 3+ years of hands-on Playwright automation experience.
- Hands-on experience building automation frameworks using Playwright.
- Experience with API testing and automation using REST APIs, Postman, or similar tools.
- Strong understanding of software testing methodologies, SDLC, and Agile development practices.
- Experience with version control systems such as Git and repository management tools.
- Hands-on experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines.
- Knowledge of test reporting, logging, and automation monitoring tools.
- Experience working with databases and writing SQL queries for test validation.
- Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and collaboration skills.
Preferred, but not required:
- Experience with BDD frameworks such as Cucumber.
- Knowledge of performance testing tools such as JMeter or LoadRunner.
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
- Exposure to containerization technologies including Docker and Kubernetes.
- Experience with accessibility, security, and performance testing practices.
- Financial Services, Banking, or Capital Markets domain experience.
- ISTQB, Certified Agile Tester, or other relevant QA certifications.
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum teams and enterprise-scale delivery environments.
