Job summary

The YMCA of Greater Indianapolis is seeking an Activity Leader to care for children in Play & Learn. You will create a healthy, safe, and nurturing environment that fosters social, physical, spiritual, and mental growth while modeling the YMCA values of Caring, Honesty, Respect and Responsibility.

You will lead age-appropriate activities, supervise participants, and interact with parents to build trust. Certifications must be updated within 60–90 days (First Aid, Child Abuse Prevention, Safety &

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Understanding and knowledge of children, their behavior and development.
• Knowledge of age-appropriate activities and ability to lead group activities.
• Ability to use age-appropriate behavior management techniques per YMCA guidelines.
• Maintain current certifications within 60–90 days: First Aid, Child Abuse Prevention, Safety & Risk Management, New Employee Orientation and related training.

Responsibilities

• Care for children in Play & Learn/Kids Adventure.
• Foster children’s social, physical, spiritual, and mental growth.
• Interact positively with parents to develop a trusting relationship.
• Supervise Play & Learn/Kids Adventure participants to ensure safety and a caring environment.
