Job summary

YMCA of Greater Indianapolis is seeking an Activity Leader to care for children in Play & Learn/Kids Adventure, maintaining a healthy and nurturing environment that supports social, physical, spiritual, and mental growth.

You will foster positive interactions with parents, lead age-appropriate activities, and uphold YMCA values while completing required safety certifications within 60–90 days of employment.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old and have an understanding and knowledge of children, their behavior and development.
• Knowledge of age-appropriate activities (crafts, games, etc.) and the ability to lead group activities.
• Ability to use age-appropriate behavior management techniques according to YMCA guidelines.
• Maintain current certifications in First Aid, Child Abuse Prevention, Safety & Risk Management, New Employee Orientation and other training within 60–90 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• The Activity Leader will care for children in Play & Learn/Kids Adventure, ensuring a healthy, safe, and nurturing environment.
• Supervises Play & Learn/Kids Adventure participants to ensure safety and provide a caring environment.
