Job summary

Sunvair, Inc. in Valencia, CA is seeking experienced Plating Technicians to support our plating department.

The role focuses on chemical processing of landing gear components, in alignment with customer, Nadcap, and OEM policies, and requires careful documentation of all work on travelers and logs. Responsibilities

• Inspect, clean, and prepare parts for Cadmium plating.
• Perform chemical processing (hard chrome, sulfamate nickel, LHE cadmium) per policies.
• Collaborate with platers, planners, and lab techs on chemical processing issues.
• Document processing activities on work orders, travellers, BOMs, and logs.

Plating Technician Job Description

Sunvair, Inc. located in Valencia, CA is a leading FAA- and EASA-certified aerospace MRO specializing in landing gear overhaul and repair for narrow body commercial and military aircraft. We are dedicated to quality excellence, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement in everything we do. Currently we are seeking experienced Plating Techs to support the production demands of our plating department. The selected applicant will be responsible for chemical processing in accordance with company, customer, Nadcap and OEM policies and procedures.

Primary Responsibilities

• Responsible for inspecting, cleaning, and preparing parts for Cadmium plating.
• Performing chemical processing (hard chrome, sulfamate nickel, LHE cadmium plating) of landing gear components in accordance with company, customer, Nadcap and OEM policies and procedures
• To work in conjunction with, and provide technical support to fellow platers, planners, and lab technicians on matters relating to chemical processing
• To ensure processing is documented in accordance with internal, customer, OEM and FAA requirements, including documentation of maintenance performed on the work order/ traveler, bill of materials, picture sheets, and logs

Qualifications

• The ability to read, write and understand English
• Detail oriented with excellent time management skills
• Requires previous employment experience for the services sought, including practical experience with the procedures, practices, inspection methods, materials, tools and equipment generally used for maintenance activities performed by the repair station, specifically as they relate to chemical processing
• Must be detail oriented
• Strong safety orientation
• Capable of moving unaided throughout the facility and lifting at least 50 lb.
• Must be thoroughly familiar with the scope and limitations of the method in which certified
• Ability to read and understand tech sheets
• Must be able to identify different plated surfaces
• Must understand inspection stamps
• Shop floor environment within an FAA-certified landing gear repair station.
