Job summary

Juniper Square is seeking a Technical Lead for our Platform team to build and maintain core services such as Identity, authorization, search, and API infrastructure. You will develop tools and frameworks to improve the developer experience across the SDLC, work with a cross-functional team, and guide platform improvements at scale.

Ideal candidates bring 6–10 years in production-scale systems, strong Python expertise, and a passion for tooling, automation, and documentation.

Qualifications

• 6-10 years of experience designing, building, and supporting large scale systems in production.
• Expertise in Python and frameworks like FastAPI, Flask, Pyramid, Django.
• Experience with SQL database schema design and query optimizations.
• Experience with cloud technologies, e.g. AWS, Azure, GCP, Docker, Kubernetes.
• Experience with continuous integration and Infrastructure as Code.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team.
• Passion for improving developer experience through better tooling, automation, and documentation.
• You are flexible and adaptable—you will be juggling multiple projects in a fast-paced startup environment.

Responsibilities

• Turn product and technical vision into code with engineers, designers, and PMs.
• Advocate for and implement modern architectural patterns.
• Extend functionality to handle increasing scale.
• Monitor and optimize database queries for performance.
• Create internal tools to support engineers and other departments.
• Produce high-quality, thoroughly tested code and perform code reviews.
• Provide guidance and documentation to product teams using the platform.
• Use observability tools to measure and enhance frontend performance and reliability.
• Collaborate with product engineers to align on platform improvements.
