Job summary

Juniper Square is seeking a Technical Lead for our Platform team to build and maintain core services such as Identity, authorization, search, and API infrastructure. You will develop tools and frameworks to improve the developer experience across the SDLC, work with a cross-functional team, and guide platform improvements at scale.

Ideal candidates bring 6–10 years in production-scale systems, strong Python expertise, and a passion for tooling, automation, and documentation.

Qualifications

• 6-10 years of experience designing, building, and supporting large scale systems in production.
• Expertise in Python and frameworks like FastAPI, Flask, Pyramid, Django.
• Experience with SQL database schema design and query optimizations.
• Experience with cloud technologies, e.g. AWS, Azure, GCP, Docker, Kubernetes.
• Experience with continuous integration and Infrastructure as Code.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team.
• Passion for improving developer experience through better tooling, automation, and documentation.

ABOUT THE ROLE

We’re looking for a Technical Lead to join our Platform team. The Platform team builds and maintains foundational services like Identity and Access management, authorization, Search, and API infrastructure, while also developing tools, frameworks, and enhancements to improve the developer experience across the entire software development lifecycle.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

• Work with engineers, designers, and product managers to turn our product and technical vision into code.
• Advocate for and implement modern architectural patterns.

• Experience working on a Platform team/building tools for other developers.
• Experience building products or tools using GenAI/LLMs.
• Experience working with GraphQL.
• Experience decomposing a large monolith into microservices.
• Ability to critically evaluate AI-generated code and outputs, including identifying failure modes, regressions, and edge cases introduced by AI-assisted development
• Experience building and shipping production-grade software using AI-assisted workflows across the full SDLC
• Hands-on experience developing or integrating LLM-powered systems (e.g., agents, copilots, tool-using workflows, or multi-step reasoning systems)
• Familiarity with patterns such as tool-calling agents, planning/execution loops, and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG)
• Demonstrated ability to leverage modern AI tools to improve development velocity, code quality, and problem-solving
• Experience contributing to AI-powered features (e.g., intelligent search, conversational interfaces, recommendations, automation)
• Working knowledge of LLMs, embeddings, semantic search, and RAG pipelines
• Ability to identify and evaluate opportunities to integrate AI capabilities into products and workflows
