Job summary

MITRE is seeking a Platform Support Engineer to be the front line for the systems powering national security work. You will triage issues on Kubernetes and cloud platforms, author runbooks, and guide engineers to unblock production workloads.

You will operate in a high-stakes, regulated environment with CMMC compliance and SOC 2 controls. This full-time, on-site role requires US citizenship and eligibility for a Secret clearance, with on-site work across multiple locations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree plus 2+ years in production apps and infrastructure support.
• Hands-on Linux and Windows admin experience, including MFA and login issues.
• Experience with AWS and cloud console/CLI for issue investigation.
• Knowledge of containers and Kubernetes basics.
• Experience with Jira/ServiceNow/GitHub Issues and incident response.
• On-call rotations and PagerDuty familiarity.
• Ability to follow security procedures in regulated environments (CMMC/SOC 2).
• Clear written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Provide frontline platform support for Kubernetes and cloud platforms.
• Triage issues, draft runbooks, and guide teams on proper platform usage.
• Maintain high availability and cyber resilience for internal tools and workloads.
• Support on-call rotations and incident response; ensure timely resolution.
