Job summary

Braintrust is seeking Platform Support Engineers to own customer-facing support for hybrid and self-hosted deployments across AWS, Azure, and GCP. You’ll debug real infrastructure issues, including Kubernetes workloads, Terraform state, networking, and TLS, while driving incident response to resolution.

You will diagnose backend performance using logs and traces, ship fixes to backend services and deployment tooling, and build self-service tooling to prevent recurring problems.

Qualifications

• Experience in a customer-facing technical role such as Support, SRE, DevOps, or Infra engineering.
• Strong Kubernetes fundamentals with ability to deploy, debug, and scale workloads.
• Hands-on Terraform and depth in AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Backend code familiarity in Python, TypeScript, or Go for debugging and fixes.
• Fluency with observability tooling and data-driven troubleshooting.
• Clear communication under pressure with technical customers.
• Ownership mindset and drive to resolve customer issues end-to-end.
• Experience supporting self-hosted or on-prem software, preferably in regulated environments.
• Multi-cloud experience (Azure/GCP with AWS) and strong database knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Own customer-facing support for hybrid and self-hosted Braintrust deployments across AWS, Azure, and GCP.
• Debug real infrastructure problems: Kubernetes workloads, Terraform state, networking, IAM, TLS, and cloud quirks.
• Diagnose performance and reliability issues using logs, metrics, and traces to find root causes.
• Lead incident response for customer-impacting issues and drive to resolution.
• Submit fixes to backend services, Terraform modules, and deployment tooling.
• Build diagnostics, health checks, and self-service tooling for faster resolutions.
• Write runbooks and deployment docs to turn learnings into permanent solutions.
• Provide patterns feedback to Engineering and Product to reduce recurring failures.
• Participate in on-call rotation for critical customer issues.
