Job summary

Anduril Industries in Seattle, WA is seeking a Site Reliability Engineer 2 to join the Production Engineering team. You will build and maintain reliable, scalable systems powering Lattice, collaborating with platform engineers and product teams to proactively identify reliability risks and own improvements.

This hands-on role involves on-call rotations, incident response, runbooks, and developing shared tooling to reduce toil and improve deployment safety, with a focus on national security

Qualifications

• 2-4 years of engineering experience, including 2+ years in SRE, production operations, or infrastructure engineering.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
• Hands-on experience troubleshooting Kubernetes in production, with an understanding of version lifecycles, patching, and ongoing operational risks.
• Strong programming skills in Go, Python, Rust, or Java, with the ability to build production-grade tooling.
• Experience building and using observability tooling for metrics, logging, and tracing (Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog).
• Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and infrastructure as code practices, preferably Terraform.
• Ability to troubleshoot distributed systems and work with owning teams on durable fixes.
• Strong incident management and communication skills.
• Must be a U.S. Person and eligible for an active U.S. Secret clearance.

Responsibilities

• Build and improve monitoring, observability, and alerting systems for the Lattice platform.
• Participate in on‑call rotations, triage production incidents, and coordinate response with owning teams.
• Contribute to blameless postmortems and drive systemic improvements.
• Build and maintain shared reliability tooling and automation to reduce toil.
• Collaborate with service owners on patching, maintenance plans, and update tracking.
• Define and track Service Level Objectives (SLOs) and error budgets with teams.
• Improve deployment safety through progressive rollouts, automated testing, and rollbacks.
• Assist with capacity planning and performance testing to handle growth.
• Create runbooks, documentation, and training for production operations.
• Incorporate security and compliance controls in production environments handling sensitive defense data.
