Job summary

Altruist is hiring a Site Reliability Engineer to strengthen the performance and resilience of our backend systems across product teams. Based in Los Angeles or San Francisco, this hybrid role requires in-office presence at least three days per week and close collaboration with engineering leadership.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience building scalable backend services in B2B fintech or SaaS.
• Proficiency with Java, Spring Boot, and RESTful APIs.
• Expertise in microservices and distributed systems.
• Strong knowledge of SQL (Postgres/MySQL).
• Containerization/orchestration with Docker, Kubernetes, Helm.

Responsibilities

• Mentor teams on secure coding practices for performant, resilient software.
• Implement observability using Open Telemetry, logging, and standard SLOs.
• Own design and coordination of Incident Response processes.
