Job summary

Morningstar Credit Ratings, LLC seeks a Manager of Platform Services to lead a team responsible for strategy, delivery, reliability, and evolution of core platform services. You will shape roadmaps, ensure dependable, easy-to-consume services, and collaborate with engineering teams, product partners, infrastructure teams, and external vendors.

Qualifications

• Experience leading engineering teams and growing talent.
• Strong background in software/platform engineering and cloud services.
• Experience delivering highly available, scalable services.
• Familiarity with AWS, Kubernetes, RDS, and modern cloud-native tech.
• Understanding of APIs, distributed systems, CI/CD, observability and security.
• Proven track record of delivering complex projects with measurable results.
• Excellent communication with technical and business stakeholders.
• Bachelor’s degree in CS/Engineering or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead a small platform engineering team with a culture of ownership and excellence.
• Own delivery and lifecycle management of platform services used by internal teams.
• Define and execute service roadmaps aligned with platform priorities.
• Provide technical direction on architecture, scalability, reliability, and security.
• Partner with engineers, product managers, and external vendors to plan work.
• Lead cross-functional projects with complex dependencies and timelines.
• Establish operating practices for reliability, incidents, and delivery.
• Identify opportunities to apply AI-enabled developer tools to improve productivity.
