Job summary

Anthropic seeks an engineering manager to lead Platform Security Engineering (PSE) within DCSE. You will own the roadmap for firmware research, OS/kernel hardening, and server manageability firmware, and grow the team responsible for security posture across bare-metal infrastructure.

You will partner with infrastructure, fleet, compute, and silicon vendors, guiding security requirements, incident response, and production gates while ensuring performance is preserved for training and inference

Qualifications

• 10+ years in systems security and 5+ years managing security or systems engineers.
• Experience with firmware, hardware, or OS-level security.
• Ability to translate architecture to implementation details across teams.
• Experience working with silicon vendors or OEMs on security requirements.
• Strong written communication for executive level status updates.

Responsibilities

• Lead and grow the platform security engineering group: hiring, onboarding, development, performance, and prioritization for full-time engineers; coordinate contractors and vendors.
• Own the platform security roadmap and delivery: hardware root of trust, attestation, secure boot, and host hardening across firmware, OS, and kernel.
• Manage firmware supply chain posture: SBOM, authenticated updates, rollback protection, vendor relationships.
• Drive platform risk assessments and go/no-go decisions with bounded risk.
• Partner with infrastructure, fleet, compute, and detection teams to ensure production integration without hurting performance.
• Manage relationships with silicon vendors, OEMs, and compute providers; oversee vulnerabilities and remediation timelines.
• Run operating rhythm: design reviews, threat models, incident participation, and clear written status to leadership.
