Job summary

Allstate Insurance seeks a visionary Platform Consultant to guide enterprise security architecture and platform strategy. You will embed secure-by-design principles across development, mentor teams, and collaborate with Security Operations to strengthen defenses.

You will lead threat modeling, drive Zero Trust adoption, and articulate security posture to senior leadership, balancing developer experience with robust protection in a dynamic technology landscape.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in software engineering, platform development, or architecture with leadership
• Proven ability to influence architecture direction and mentor engineers
• Expert-level Agile/XP and DevOps practices including TDD, pair programming, and CI/CD automation
• Experience delivering cloud-native microservices on Docker/Kubernetes on AWS/Azure or equivalent
• Proficiency across Java and JavaScript ecosystems; familiarity with IDEs and RESTful APIs
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills to convey security concepts to leadership

Responsibilities

• Guide secure platform design and implementation across diverse product domains
• Communicate requirements clearly to business and engineering stakeholders
• Lead cross-disciplinary sessions and architecture reviews
• Embed secure-by-design principles and threat modeling into the lifecycle
• Define and communicate the organization's security posture to leadership
• Lead the development of innovative security controls and improve security maturity
• Promote scalable, resilient, and efficient platform engineering practices
• Mentor engineers and platform consultants in systems thinking and reusable design
• Influence cross-functional teams through architecture discussions and strategic planning
• Enforce architectural standards and reuse across the enterprise
• Participate in agile ceremonies and foster a culture of iterative delivery
