Job summary

Matternet seeks a Site Reliability Engineer to own the reliability of live flight operations software and infrastructure. You will shape SLOs, improve monitoring, and drive incident response across cloud, Kubernetes, and data systems.

You’ll work in a safety-critical context on AWS, Terraform, and CI/CD, collaborating with cloud, onboarding software, and operations teams to ensure resilient, scalable deliveries.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in SRE, infrastructure, or backend roles operating production systems, including on-call responsibility.
• Strong experience with AWS, Kubernetes, and containers.
• Hands-on infrastructure-as-code experience.
• Experience building monitoring and alerting with tools such as Prometheus and Grafana.
• Proficiency in at least one programming or scripting language.
• A track record of incident response, root-cause analysis, and turning incidents into durable fixes.
• Clear technical communication and cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Define and track service-level objectives for the services that support live operations, and set reliability baselines.
• Own and improve monitoring, alerting, and observability across production systems.
• Build and participate in an on-call rotation, lead incident response, and run effective post-incident reviews.
• Improve the resilience of core systems, including databases, Kubernetes, messaging, and multi-AZ availability.
• Automate infrastructure and operational work with infrastructure-as-code and CI/CD.
• Collaborate with cloud, onboard software, operations, and safety teams on how systems are built, deployed, and run.
