Job summary

DroneUp, LLC is seeking a Platform Engineer (SRE) to ensure reliability, scalability, and performance of internal and client-facing IT infrastructure. The role blends operations with platform engineering, focusing on uptime, incidents, and observability.

You will drive SRE best practices and collaborate across the platform team to deliver resilient software at scale. The ideal candidate has extensive Linux experience, strong cloud knowledge (GCP/AWS/Azure), and hands-on work with Kubernetes,

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in CS/CE or related field.
8+ years of software engineering experience.
Proficiency in Kubernetes; CKAD/CKA optional.
Extensive Unix/Linux experience.
Multi-cloud knowledge (GCP, AWS, Azure).
Proficient in Go, Node.js, Python, or similar.
Terraform and infrastructure as code experience.
Open Telemetry or observability tooling expertise.

Responsibilities

Broad domain architect for the internal developer platform and all cloud engineering.
Drive architecture for tooling or in-house software.
Mentor other platform engineers to uphold engineering practices.
Lead incident response and on-call rotations.
Define and maintain SLOs/SLIs and error budgets.
Implement monitoring, alerting, and observability.
Collaborate on capacity planning and performance optimization.
Stay current with platform changes and libraries.
Foster security by default and least privilege.
