Job summary

H&R Block, Inc. is seeking a Director, Marketing Platform Operations to lead how Marketing translates its operating model into a scalable work management platform. You will own platforms like Workfront, ensuring governance, adoption, and measurable outcomes across Marketing.

In this cross‑functional role, you will partner with Marketing leaders, Program Operations, and tech teams to standardize workflows, dashboards, and data models, while guiding change management and platform investments.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • 10+ years of experience in marketing operations, business operations, platform operations, portfolio management, program management, or related disciplines.
  • Experience leading enterprise planning, workflow, project management, or portfolio management platforms.
  • Proven experience designing governance frameworks, operating standards, workflows, and business processes.
  • Experience building executive reporting, dashboards, and performance measurement capabilities.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with Marketing leaders, Program Operations, workflow managers, and cross-functional stakeholders to translate the evolution of Marketing's operating model and processes into the work management platform ecosystem.
  • Operationalize governance standards within the platform ecosystem, including workflows, intake processes, taxonomies, permissions, templates, data structures, and reporting.
  • Design, configure, and optimize scalable platform functionality that supports how Marketing plans, prioritizes, executes, and measures work.
  • Serve as steward of Marketing's planning, portfolio, and capacity-related data models, ensuring visibility and informed decision making.
  • Enable data requirements for capacity, demand, throughput, priorities, risks, and portfolio health in partnership with broader vision teams.
  • Partner with Technology teams and platform vendors on integrations, upgrades, enhancements, and optimization initiatives.
  • Lead platform adoption, training, communication, and change management efforts.
  • Evaluate and implement workflow automation and AI-enabled capabilities that improve efficiency and visibility.
  • Socialize platform-enabled processes, governance expectations, and ways of working to drive consistency across teams and lines of business.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to Marketing leadership regarding platform investments and capability development.

We're building a modern Marketing Operations function to support that mission, and we're looking for a Director, Marketing Platform Operations to help translate Marketing's evolving operating model, governance, and processes into the work management platform ecosystem that enables how teams plan, prioritize, execute, and measure work.

What You'll Do

As the Director, Marketing Platform Operations, you'll partner with Marketing leaders, Program Operations, workflow managers, and other stakeholders to help evolve Marketing's operating model and business processes, then bring those ways of working to life through the work management platform ecosystem. You'll serve as the business owner for platforms such as Workfront and related workflow technologies, ensuring governance, functionality, adoption, and enablement support consistent planning, execution, visibility, and decision making across Marketing.

Specifically, you will:

  • Partner with Marketing, Program Operations, workflow managers, and cross-functional stakeholders to translate the evolution of Marketing's operating model and processes into the work management platform ecosystem
  • Operationalize governance standards within the platform ecosystem, including workflows, intake processes, taxonomies, permissions, templates, data structures, and reporting
  • Design, configure, and optimize scalable platform functionality that supports how Marketing plans, prioritizes, executes, and measures work
  • Serve as steward of Marketing's planning, portfolio, and capacity-related data models, ensuring the right structures are in place to support consistent visibility and decision making
  • Enable the frameworks, functionality, standards, and data requirements needed for capacity, demand, throughput, priorities, risks, and portfolio health visibility, in partnership with the teams that define the broader vision and operating standards
  • Partner with Technology teams and platform vendors on integrations, upgrades, enhancements, and optimization initiatives
  • Lead platform adoption, training, communication, and change management efforts
  • Evaluate and implement workflow automation and AI-enabled capabilities that improve efficiency and visibility
  • Socialize platform-enabled processes, governance expectations, and ways of working to drive consistency across teams and lines of business
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to Marketing leadership regarding platform investments and capability development
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • 10+ years of experience in marketing operations, business operations, platform operations, portfolio management, program management, or related disciplines
  • Experience leading enterprise planning, workflow, project management, or portfolio management platforms
  • Proven experience designing governance frameworks, operating standards, workflows, and business processes
  • Experience building executive reporting, dashboards, and performance measurement capabilities
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Experience leading teams or managing experienced individual contributors
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with Workfront, Airtable, Smartsheet, Jira, Monday.com, Asana, or similar enterprise platforms
  • Experience leading platform implementations, migrations, or transformation initiatives
  • Experience supporting large-scale marketing or matrixed organizations
  • Experience with workflow automation, integrations, and platform governance

Pay Range Information

The pay range for this position is listed below. Local minimum wage laws apply. This information is posted pursuant to local requirements to provide applicants with information about what they might be eligible to receive. Individual pay decisions will depend on job-related factors such as experience, education, skill, performance, and geographic location where work will be performed. Successful candidates may be able to participate in one or more incentive compensation or short-term incentive plans, which could generate additional earnings in accordance with the terms of each plan.Qualifying associates can enroll themselves and/or their eligible dependents in medical and prescription drug coverage; can participate in the H&R Block Retirement Savings Plan (401(k) Plan), the Employee Assistance Program, (virtual) fitness center programs, and the associate discount program; are automatically enrolled in Business Travel Accident Insurance; and receive Associate Tax Prep benefit.

Pay Range

$132,200.00 - $224,700.00/Yr.
