Job summary

Henderson Engineers seeks an Engineering Applications Lead to own the lifecycle and health of the firm’s engineering tools. You will coordinate upgrades, governance, and incident handling with Engineering, IT, and vendors to ensure reliable, business‑critical services.

The role requires hands‑on leadership, experience with Revit/AutoCAD/Navisworks/BIM 360/ACC/Forma, and strong stakeholder management. This position offers a collaborative ESOP culture in a leading engineering firm.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, information systems, computer science, construction technology, or a related field is required.
• Equivalent years of experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
• 7+ years of experience supporting, administering, or managing engineering/design applications in architecture, engineering, construction, or related environment required.
• Strong working knowledge of engineering/design platforms such as Revit, AutoCAD, Navisworks, BIM 360, Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC), Forma, or similar ecosystems required.
• Experience with application lifecycle management: upgrades, version control, release planning, issue resolution, and operational support.
• Experience managing stakeholder priorities, vendor relationships, and cross‑functional coordination across business and technology teams.
• Experience leading or coordinating support processes, service improvements, and platform governance.

Responsibilities

• Own the operational health and service delivery model for the engineering applications portfolio.
• Establish and maintain support processes, service expectations, escalation paths, and operating rhythms for engineering platforms.
• Partner with Engineering, IT, and business stakeholders to define priorities, manage trade‑offs, and ensure services align with needs.
• Monitor service performance, recurring issues, and portfolio risks; drive actions to improve stability and usability.
• Maintain visibility into application health, incidents, upgrade readiness, and key metrics.
• Lead response coordination for major issues and ensure escalation and resolution follow‑through.
• Establish incident, problem, and change management practices for the portfolio.
• Identify trends in support demand and drive root‑cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Balance urgent production support with maintenance, upgrades, and improvements.
• Ensure documentation exists for procedures, issues, release changes, and dependencies.
• Oversee lifecycle management including version planning, patching, upgrades, and retirement planning.
• Coordinate release calendars, testing readiness, deployment planning, and vendor communications.
