Job summary

Henderson Engineers, Inc. is seeking an Engineering Applications Lead to own the portfolio of engineering tools, ensuring stability, appropriate versioning, and alignment with project delivery.

This role will collaborate with Engineering, IT, and vendors to set priorities and deliver reliable, business-critical services. Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field required.
• 7+ years of experience with engineering/design applications in AEC.
• Strong knowledge of Revit, AutoCAD, Navisworks, BIM 360, ACC, Forma or similar.
• Experience with application lifecycle management, upgrades, version control, and support.
• Experience managing stakeholders and cross-functional coordination.
• Experience leading support processes and platform governance.
• Experience with software configuration and APIs.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Experience with incident, problem, and change management preferred.
• Experience with automation tools, scripting, or platform customizations preferred.

Responsibilities

• Own the operational health and service delivery model for the engineering applications portfolio.
• Establish and maintain support processes and operating rhythms for engineering platforms.
• Partner with Engineering, IT, and business stakeholders to define priorities and ensure services align with needs.
• Monitor service performance and drive actions to improve stability and support.
• Maintain visibility into application health, incidents, and upgrade readiness.
• Lead response coordination for major issues and ensure escalation and resolution.
• Establish disciplined incident, problem, and change management practices.
• Identify trends in support demand and drive root-cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Balance urgent production support with planned maintenance and upgrades.
• Ensure documentation exists for procedures, known issues, and changes.
• Oversee lifecycle management including version planning, patching, upgrades, and retirement.
• Coordinate release calendars, testing readiness, deployment planning, and communication.
• Partner with vendors to manage support, licensing, and upgrade dependencies.
• Ensure governance aligns with security and enterprise standards.
• Evaluate enhancements and configuration options for improvement.
• Lead intake and prioritization of requests and defects.
• Translate stakeholder needs into backlogs with priorities and ownership.
• Coordinate improvements across engineering teams and vendors.
• Drive improvements to reduce support burden and improve UX.
• Provide reporting on priorities, progress, risks, and dependencies to leadership.
• Lead and develop engineering application resources and set role expectations.
• Foster accountability and collaboration; shape future org design for engineering apps.
