Job summary

Broadcom Core Switch Group in San Jose seeks an experienced SDK Platforms & Lab Operations Engineer to keep the lab reliable and ready for engineering and QA use. You will combine hands-on lab operations with Linux administration, test equipment support, and development of the Rack lab management system, collaborating with SDK development and QA teams for releases and lab deployment.

Role involves ownership of lab automation, system updates, safety, and coordination with security teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher with 12+ years related experience; advanced degree preferred.
• Hands-on Linux administration, lab management, and security practices.
• Experience with Python, Expect, Rust in automation and tooling.

Responsibilities

• Manage lab equipment moves, additions, and changes; maintain cabling, connections, servers.
• Monitor lab power and cooling, archive equipment, and perform minor repairs.
• Attend lab managers' meetings, safety assessments, and replenish lab supplies.
• Administer Linux systems in SDK labs; perform maintenance and PCIe firmware updates.
• Rotate service account passwords with Information Security.
• Run Qualys scans and mitigate findings; improve Rack lab management system.
• Develop automation for integrating equipment into Broadcom processes using Python/Expect/Rust.
• Perform OS/kernel updates on SVK reference systems and update builds pages.
• Support new platform setup workflows, system installation, and tar creation.
• Install and maintain Raspberry Pi LED test setups.
