Job summary

GCS Recruitment is seeking a Senior Lab Engineer to be onsite in Mountain View. You will lead lab operations, maintain TAC/Engineering/QA/Product lab environments, and mentor junior technicians to ensure SLA delivery.

Strong virtualization, Windows/Linux, and networking skills are required, with experience in data center operations and hardware install. The role emphasizes leadership, project execution, and proactive escalation management within a collaborative lab team, reporting to the Lab

Qualifications

• Senior experience in Systems Engineering, Lab Engineering, Data Center Operations, or Infrastructure Support.
• Hands-on with VMware ESXi/vSphere, VM provisioning, Windows Server and Linux.
• Solid networking knowledge: TCP/IP, Subnetting, VLANs, DNS/DHCP, Layer 1-3.
• Experience deploying and maintaining server/network infrastructure.
• Ability to troubleshoot hardware through network layers.

Responsibilities

• Own and manage the lab support queue and SLA targets.
• Build, deploy, and maintain lab environments for TAC, Engineering, QA, and Product teams.
• Provision switches, wireless APs, VMs, traffic generators, and lab infrastructure.
• Administer VMware ESXi/vSphere server environments and perform provisioning and lifecycle tasks.
• Configure and troubleshoot network connectivity from Layer 1 to 3, and document configurations.
• Perform rack-and-stack, cabling, hardware installation, and inventory management.
• Lead projects, mentor junior technicians, manage escalations, and coordinate with other Lab staff.
