Job summary

Forus is seeking a Software Engineer, Platform & Infrastructure in New York to own the compute and data foundations of the company. You will manage the EKS platform, data layer, cloud reliability, and infrastructure economics, shaping architecture decisions for scalable, reliable services used by all product teams.

Qualifications

• Experience operating production Kubernetes at scale, including networking, autoscaling, and cluster reliability.
• Deep AWS expertise (EKS, VPC, IAM) and strong infrastructure-as-code with Terraform.
• Run a real, low-downtime database migration and operated a relational store like Postgres under production load.
• Strong instincts for reducing complexity and consolidating systems.
• Familiarity with PHI, HIPAA, SOC 2 is a plus, and quick domain mastery.

Responsibilities

• Own our compute platform, including container orchestration, networking, autoscaling, service topology, and ingress; define architecture for reliability at scale.
• Own our data layer, driving performance and reliability across Postgres, OpenSearch, and BigQuery; guide datastore scalability and cost efficiency.
• Own cloud spend by building attribution and optimization across compute, data, and storage.
• Define and own platform reliability, including SLOs, capacity planning, observability, and incident response.
• Build infrastructure-as-code, service patterns, and self-serve primitives for product teams.
