Reddit, Inc. is seeking an Engineering Manager for the Notifications Platform to architect and operate high‑availability, low‑latency services used by Reddit's notification experiences.

You will lead a diverse team of engineers, set technical direction, and partner with product teams to align plans with company goals. Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience building and managing engineering teams.
• 5+ years of experience as a Software Engineer or Engineering Manager building and operating large-scale distributed systems or platform services.
• Deep understanding of distributed systems, service-oriented architectures, event-driven systems, and APIs; experience with notification/messaging systems is a plus.
• Hands-on experience with highly available, low-latency services and operational excellence practices.
• Experience with cloud infrastructure, data storage, streaming or messaging systems, and observability tooling.
• Experience setting technical direction for platform teams and balancing consistency, extensibility, and autonomy.

Responsibilities

• Lead the team that architects, builds, and operates the Notifications Platform/Foundations at Reddit.
• Set technical direction for platform capabilities across APIs, eventing, workflows, delivery pipelines, and observability.
• Partner with ML teams to productionize ML-powered notification systems.
• Define platform contracts with product and engineering teams to improve developer experience and safe launches.
• Drive the full development lifecycle and operational excellence across the platform.
• Build a diverse team that collaborates to solve complex challenges and align plans with company goals.
