Fieldguide is seeking a Senior Engineering Manager, Platform to lead the team building the core platform, APIs, and developer tooling that power Fieldguide’s products. You will guide ten engineers (incl. Senior and Staff ICs), defining the roadmap and working with product, design, AI, and infrastructure leaders to maximize leverage.

The role reports to the Senior Director of Platform Engineering. Our engineering hub is in San Francisco, with openness to remote candidates across the US.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of software engineering experience with 3+ years of people management.
• Experience building product-facing platforms or foundational services.
• History hiring, coaching, and retaining engineers; able to raise the bar.
• Strong product instincts and experience shipping platform capabilities.

Responsabilités

• Lead platform engineering team, including hiring, onboarding, coaching, and career development.
• Set platform vision and roadmap across core services and internal tooling.
• Own architecture for SaaS, enterprise and government-cloud environments.
• Collaborate with product, design, AI, and infra leaders on investments and tradeoffs.
• Improve velocity, reliability, and consistency across the application.
