Job summary

Volta is building the next generation of its GPU cloud platform and seeks a leader to guide a platform engineering team. You will shape technical direction across core platform layers, drive architecture decisions, and work closely with security and product teams to deliver production-grade capabilities.

You will stay hands-on while mentoring engineers, run incident post-mortems, and own reliability and security standards across services.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in cloud platform or infrastructure engineering
• 2+ years leading an engineering team
• Strong backend or systems programming background
• Kubernetes in production
• GPU infrastructure provisioning and sizing

Responsibilities

• Lead a platform engineering team: technical direction, design reviews, code review, and day-to-day delivery
• Set the technical direction for your team’s stack area and build platform layers
• Represent platform engineering in roadmap planning and translate requirements into work
• Collaborate with bring-up and security teams to surface pain points and build features
• Coordinate with other platform engineering leads on shared architecture and cross-team delivery
• Own reliability, observability, security, and interface/versioning standards
• Stay hands-on and tackle high-risk engineering work
• Run post-mortems and close gaps after incidents
• Manage the team: 1:1s, performance conversations, hiring, onboarding
