Job summary

Volta seeks a Head of Project Engineering to lead multiple project teams delivering large-scale GPU compute deployments across sites. You will own technical input for deal discovery, guide delivery from handover through. readiness, and manage risks across portfolios.

This role requires deep data center and network expertise and strong leadership to build a repeatable delivery model. Travel to sites and partner locations will be regular.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in data center, infrastructure, or large scale technical delivery.
• Track record delivering large scale compute deployments end to end.
• Real technical depth in at least two of: data center facilities, power & cooling, network fabric, compute & systems engineering.
• Familiarity with GPU cluster deployment: rack scale systems, high density power, liquid cooling and related validation.
• Experience owning delivery against commercial commitments with contractual and financial consequences.
• Multi-vendor OEM and partner management under delivery pressure.
• Experience running concurrent projects with shared, constrained resources.
• Comfortable in commercial conversations: deal shaping, feasibility and cost translation.

Responsibilities

• Own technical input into deals from the discovery phase: site feasibility, power & cooling envelope, hardware options, timelines.
• Manage delivery across a portfolio of concurrent deployments: scope, quality, and readiness against committed dates.
• Define and enforce what "done" means: acceptance criteria, validation, documentation, runbooks, monitoring, and operability.
• Lead the project engineering function: teams, team leads, and senior specialists; establish career paths.
• Own handover to steady state operations with a controlled transition and documented closure.
• Manage partner and vendor relationships through delivery and hold them to commitments.
• Turn deployments into repeatable processes and develop reference deployment models.
