AngelList is hiring a Head of Engineering, Foundations to lead the team that owns infrastructure moving real money. You will report directly to the CEO and influence company‑level scope, guiding engineers across multiple hubs in New York City and San Francisco.

You'd personally ship, not just manage, and drive a high‑impact platform strategy. The role requires 12+ years in engineering with 5+ years leading teams, and hands‑on expertise in Kubernetes, AWS, and modern infrastructure tooling.

Qualifications

• 12+ years in engineering or related field.
• 5+ years leading teams and shipping systems end-to-end.
• Ability to mentor staff and ICs to raise the org's capability.
• Strong judgment on complex infrastructure beyond specific stack.
• Develop infrastructure as a product used by engineers.

Responsibilities

• Hire, coach, and grow a small team of high‑performing engineers.
• Build and maintain platform used by the entire engineering org.
• Automate infrastructure as code on Kubernetes and AWS (Pulumi, cdk8s, ArgoCD).
• Develop sandboxing, audit trails, rollback for systems moving real money.
• Set reliability and architectural standards to keep teams shipping.
