Platform Engineering Lead for AI-Driven Systems

Job summary

Ocra is seeking a senior engineering leader to drive delivery across product, engineering, and QA for a distributed team. You will be accountable for what ships, how often, and whether it runs reliably in production, while closely engaging in design reviews, PRs, and essential coding tasks.

You will scale the platform behind pricing, manage high-volume data ingestion and API surfaces, and own integrations as repeatable patterns for new channels.

Qualifications

• 8+ years building production software with leadership experience
• Hands-on technical leadership across design reviews, PRs, and production systems
• Deep experience with distributed systems, APIs, and data models that endure real-world use
• Real track record in SRE, with SLOs, incident response, capacity planning, cost-aware infra
• Experience scaling systems (traffic, data, or integrations) and making effective tradeoffs
• Experience with third-party integrations in parking, travel, hospitality, payments, logistics, or marketplaces
• Ownership of QA strategy: what to automate vs. manual and test coverage metrics
• Clear written communication across design docs, incident postmortems, roadmaps

Responsibilities

• Own delivery across product, engineering, and QA for the platform
• Stay close to the work by reviewing designs, PRs, and occasionally coding
• Unblock dependencies and simplify paths from decided to in production
• Make reliability a property of the platform with scalable uptime and on-call practices
• Scale the platform behind pricing with high-volume ingestion and APIs across locations
• Own the API surface as a product including access control, contracts, deprecation, and docs
• Turn integrations into repeatable patterns for new channels and vendors
• Bring engineering rigor with CI/CD, environments, testing strategy, and observability
• Partner with AI team on data capture, event ingestion, and model serving support
