Job summary

HA Sustainable Infrastructure Capital, Inc. (HASI) is modernizing its data platform. We seek a hands‑on Platform Engineering Lead to own architecture, roadmap, and automation for scalable, secure data and analytics infrastructure.

You’ll drive observability, reliability, and cost optimization across Snowflake, Airflow, SQL Server, and SAP/BObjects ecosystems, partnering with data, BI, and security teams. You will unite platform engineering with data governance and engineering disciplines,

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in platform engineering, data engineering, cloud infrastructure, DevOps, or a closely related technical discipline.
• Experience owning enterprise platform architecture and translating direction into a multi-year technology roadmap.
• Hands-on experience with modern data platforms and cloud data architecture (Snowflake, Airflow, etc.).
• Strong coding fundamentals with Python or equivalent for platform tooling and automation.
• Experience with CI/CD, infrastructure automation, deployment automation, source control, and environment management.
• Knowledge of production platform reliability, observability, monitoring, incident management, and capacity planning.
• Security expertise including IAM, data protection, auditability, and secure configuration.
• Ability to design integrations and reusable platform capabilities for multiple teams.
• Proven ability to operate across strategy and execution and to communicate with diverse stakeholders.
• Entrepreneurial, ownership mindset, and ability to scale Platform Engineering as the org grows.

Responsibilities

• Own the architecture and multi-year roadmap for HASI's enterprise data platform.
• Establish modern platform engineering practices including CI/CD and automation.
• Engineer platforms for production reliability with observability and incident response.
• Own data platform security in partnership with Cybersecurity.
• Optimize platform performance and cost across cloud and data stacks.
• Design reusable integration patterns and platform capabilities for teams.
• Set technical standards and manage lifecycle of platform ecosystems.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to platform engineers.
• Collaborate with Data Eng, BI, AI Product Eng, and business teams to translate requirements.
• Evaluate new technologies and vendor decisions for capability and risk.
• Measure platform health and maturity across availability, adoption, and cost.
