Job summary

McAfee is seeking a Lead Application Platform Engineer to architect and lead platform solutions across product engineering groups, setting patterns, standards, and driving architectural decisions that boost developer productivity and operational excellence.

You will embed with multiple product teams, own reference architectures, mentor engineers, lead incident response with SRE, and advance IaC, CI/CD, observability, and security across the platform.

Qualifications

• Expert-level proficiency in Go, Python, and Node.js/TypeScript.
• Competency in Dart/Flutter; reading and architecting in Java, Kotlin, Swift, Objective-C, C++, C, Rust, and C#/.NET.
• Deep AWS and production-grade Kubernetes experience across deployments.
• Infrastructure-as-Code at scale with Terraform, Terragrunt, and CloudFormation.
• CI/CD automation and security scanning expertise.

Responsibilities

• Architect reference architectures (synchronous services, asynchronous workers, data pipelines).
• Serve as escalation point for production and architecture problems; lead incidents with SRE.
• Set operational readiness standards; define review, testing, instrumentation baselines.
• Mentor Application Platform Engineers and onboard new hires.
• Drive security remediation strategy across the software supply chain.
• Evaluate and introduce tooling for AI-assisted development and quality.
