Job summary

Catalis is seeking an experienced software engineering manager to lead and mentor globally distributed teams responsible for a scalable government SaaS platform. You will shape architecture, guide hands-on delivery, and partner with product, services, and stakeholders to drive high-impact projects.

You will oversee architectural decisions, promote best practices, and ensure delivery quality while leveraging AI enhancements to improve processes and user experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related field, or ten+ years of experience in enterprise software.
• Proven experience managing development teams in a complex environment.
• 1-3+ years of software management experience.
• 6+ years in software development with diverse technologies.
• Solid understanding of RESTful API design and service-based architecture.
• Knowledge of software architecture and design principles.
• Familiarity with AWS cloud environment.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
• Experience with Agile development methodologies and SaaS/cloud-based systems.

Responsibilities

• Provide thought leadership and collaborate with other technical leaders to drive progress in software and industry.
• Advance AI usage in processes, development, and customer UX.
• Lead cross-functional collaboration with product management, professional services, and support to define requirements and priorities.
• Bridge communication between technical and non-technical teams.
• Lead and mentor development and QA teams, promoting accountability and continuous improvement.
• Manage performance and collaborate with offshore partners to recruit and retain top talent.
• Conduct code reviews, mentor developers, and enforce coding and design best practices.
• Architect, develop, and maintain a shared platform service using C#, Go, React, Postgres, Terraform, and AWS.
• Troubleshoot issues across application and database layers and address risks.
• Participate in Scrum ceremonies and drive productivity and quality improvements.
