Job summary

CVS Health in Rhode Island seeks a hands-on Lead Director of Software Engineering to guide the Health100 platform engineering roadmap and integration strategy. You will manage cross-functional teams, ensure high-quality, scalable software, and align with business goals to improve consumer health experiences.

You will mentor managers, drive architecture across multiple domains, and partner with product, security, and external stakeholders to deliver impactful solutions at scale.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of hands-on software engineering in large-scale distributed platforms.
• 5+ years leading managers and senior engineers through complex initiatives.
• Experience delivering multi-team programs, platform modernization, and cloud migrations.
• Strong depth in distributed systems and cloud-native architectures (Java/Spring Boot, Python).
• Executive-level communication and influence with vendor partnerships.

Responsibilities

• Define and drive multi-team product and technical roadmaps.
• Establish scalable engineering standards, frameworks, and risk management.
• Lead engineering managers and senior engineers; drive talent development.
• Collaborate with Product, Architecture, Design, Security and external partners.
• Navigate architectural complexity across multiple domains with disciplined execution.
• Oversee vendor strategies and technology research including AI and cloud.
