Job summary

Palo Alto Networks is seeking a Platform Engineer to design, build, and maintain scalable, secure infrastructure powering its threat prevention platforms. You will manage the orchestration plane, automate deployments, and ensure reliability for global operations.

You will work on highly available Kubernetes clusters, data services like Bigtable and BigQuery, and CI/CD pipelines, while applying IaC practices and SRE principles to maintain peak performance.

Qualifications

• Education & Experience: BS/MS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field with 5+ years in DevOps, SRE, or Cloud Platform Engineering.
• Orchestration & Containers: Deep Kubernetes (GKE) and container runtimes.
• GitOps & CI/CD: Experience with ArgoCD and GitLab CI/CD for automated delivery.
• Infrastructure-as-Code: Proficiency with Terraform or similar IaC tools.

Responsibilities

• Architect, configure, and maintain high-scale Kubernetes clusters on GCP, with secure network isolation.
• Deploy, scale, and optimize core GCP data services (Bigtable, BigQuery).
• Design and implement robust IaC solutions for global multi-region environments.
• Build and support robust CI/CD pipelines and automated validation gates for platform microservices.
• Collaborate with Data Plane/Data Pipeline engineers to monitor and optimize resource bounds.
• Drive SRE practices with observability dashboards, metrics, and alerting.
