Iterable, Inc. is hiring a Software Engineer II for the Developer Platform Team. You will help improve the Scala, Bazel, and CI foundations that engineers rely on to build, test, and ship services.

The role emphasizes hands-on work near the codebase, build systems, and developer workflows. You will own moderate-complexity projects, contribute to the Bazel build platform and core Scala libraries, and partner with product engineering to turn recurring pain into durable platform improvements.

Qualifications

• Strong software engineering fundamentals in Scala, Java, Kotlin, or another production language.
• Experience with build systems, dependency management, CI, or test infrastructure.
• Product-minded approach to developer experience and usability.
• Clear communicator who can work with service teams and explain trade-offs.

Responsibilities

• Improve the core developer workflow and CI tooling to speed up engineering cycles.
• Contribute to shared engineering foundations like libraries and patterns used across services.
• Make CI faster and more reliable while preserving quality and release confidence.
• Create tooling, documentation, automation, and platform improvements to reduce developer pain.
• Apply AI tooling to real engineering problems and drive adoption across teams.
