Job summary

Foxconn Assembly, LLC is seeking a Platform Engineer to manage day-to-day database administration, on-prem platform services, and infrastructure support for the engineering team in Houston, TX. The role covers backup/recovery, performance tuning, and security operations across Linux and Windows servers.

The ideal candidate has hands-on SQL Server/Linux administration experience, familiarity with Redis, MinIO, and Kafka, and exposure to CI/CD workflows.

Qualifications

• Experience managing database environments including backup/recovery and monitoring.
• Strong SQL skills with performance tuning and indexing strategies.
• Understanding of DB security, RBAC, and audit logging.
• Familiarity with Windows Server and Linux (RHEL/Ubuntu).
• Ability to troubleshoot under pressure and document procedures.

Responsibilities

• Perform day-to-day database administration, monitoring, patches, and upgrades.
• Verify backup, recovery, and restore procedures per schedule.
• Monitor and optimize database performance and slow queries.
• Deploy and maintain on-prem platform services: Redis, MinIO, Kafka.
• Manage security: user access, roles, and audits.
• Support Windows/Linux server maintenance for hosting environments.
• Assist with basic CI/CD pipeline operations and deployments.
• Document schemas, configurations, and standard operating procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
