Job summary

Econolite is seeking a Platform Engineer to design, deploy, and support Kubernetes-based infrastructure for the Centracs Mobility product line in customer on‑premises environments. You will also assist with cloud DevOps for hosted workloads while collaborating with development, support, and customer IT teams.

The role requires working with on‑prem hardware, various networking constraints, and occasional travel to customer sites for installations and troubleshooting.

Qualifications

• 2–6 years of platform engineering, DevOps, SRE, or systems engineering.
• Strong hands-on experience running Kubernetes on-premises (RKE2, k3s, kubeadm or OpenShift).
• Background with Docker and Helm.
• Solid networking knowledge: TCP/IP, DNS, load balancing, TLS, firewalls, VPNs.
• Linux and Windows Server admin with Bash/PowerShell scripting.
• Azure DevOps or similar CI/CD; Azure/AWS cloud experience.
• Experience with SQL Server and PostgreSQL administration.
• Security practices incl. SOC 2 compliance.
• Experience supporting enterprise-grade software in customer environments.
• Proficiency in C# programming.
• Willingness to travel to customer sites.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and maintain Kubernetes clusters on customer on-premises hardware.
• Package and deploy Centracs Mobility services using Helm with repeatable configurations.
• Build tooling, runbooks, and docs for on-prem installations and air-gapped networks.
• Provide on-prem platform services: ingress, load balancing, certificates, storage, secrets, identity, messaging.
• Manage SQL Server and PostgreSQL provisioning, backups, HA, upgrades.
• Set up monitoring, logging, and alerting for on-prem deployments; remote or on-site support.
• Collaborate with customer IT for networking, DNS, firewall rules and sizing.
• Apply security hardening and patching; support SOC 2 and compliance.
• Assist cloud DevOps: Azure DevOps CI/CD for .NET/Angular apps; cloud Kubernetes.
