Pacific Life Insurance Company in Newport Beach is seeking a Platform Engineer to join our enterprise technology team. You will support end-user services and digital workplace platforms to improve self-service, reduce incidents, and enhance user experience.

The role emphasizes automation, scripting, API integrations, and dashboarding to measure platform health and business outcomes, with collaboration across teams and a focus on secure, scalable operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 0-4 years of experience in enterprise IT supporting end-user services, platform administration, automation, analytics, or service delivery.
• Exposure to enterprise platforms, including configuration, access management, integrations, operational controls, lifecycle management, or service-dependent components.
• Foundational experience building or maintaining scripts, API integrations, workflows, or service interactions using PowerShell, Python, HTTP-based calls.
• Familiarity with identity, access, governance concepts, including RBAC, security practices.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, collaboration, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Help build, test, deploy, and maintain reusable workflows, automations, orchestration patterns, and AI-enabled or knowledge-driven solutions that reduce manual effort and improve consistency.
• Develop and maintain operational scripts, actions, and API-based interactions under guidance, following established security, code review, certificate, and access controls.
• Support platform administration by helping maintain access models, role-based permissions, configuration standards, integrations, data feeds, and operational controls.
• Contribute to deployment, configuration, lifecycle management, and continuous improvement of platform components across the environment.
• Develop and maintain metrics, dashboards, and reporting solutions that measure platform health, service performance, operational trends, user adoption, and business outcomes.
• Translate technical activity and reporting into actionable insights, training materials, and interpretive support that help teams improve operational performance and demonstrate business value.
