Hex is seeking a principal engineer to advance our internal developer platform and AI-enabled coding tools. You will own end-to-end platform architecture, build, and rollout while accelerating the org-wide velocity through measurable improvements in CI/CD, environments, and tooling.

You will collaborate across teams to embed standards, protect production with robust safety layers, and evaluate cutting-edge coding tools and agent frameworks for seamless integration with Hex's codebase and

Qualifications

• 5+ years in developer productivity, build/release engineering, or internal platforms.
• Deep build-systems and CI/CD expertise.
• Breadth across the stack from backend to infrastructure-as-code.
• Strong proficiency in TypeScript/Node.js and SQL; Python a plus.
• Hands-on experience with LLMs and agent frameworks.
• Excellent written communication.

Responsabilités

• Own the internal developer platform end to end: architecture, build, rollout, operation, and measurement.
• Invest in build and CI/CD: monorepo tooling, caching, CI pipelines, test suites, and safe rollout mechanics.
• Build great dev environments with fast local builds and reproducible multi-platform environments.
• Raise org-wide velocity by establishing metrics and dashboards across engineering teams.
• Build the agent context layer and evaluate/integrate new third-party coding tools.
• Drive adoption through developer experience with good defaults, docs, and templates.
