Qualifications

• 8+ years of hands-on engineering experience building and operating production systems at scale.
• Strong ability to reason about distributed systems, concurrency, queuing, and failure recovery.
• Familiarity with Clay's tech stack or ability to learn unfamiliar technologies quickly.

Responsibilities

• Scale, reliability, and performance targets as load grows.
• Define primitives, contracts, and extension points for shared infrastructure.
• Own execution and orchestration across the product, without breaking existing systems.
• Make the system legible with instrumentation and observability.
• Handle seams where two systems meet and ensure robust data flow.
• Raise the bar by setting technical direction across teams.
