Job summary

Clay is hiring a Software Engineer focused on Infrastructure/Platform teams to shape the foundations that power all Clay products. You will work on scalable systems, concurrency, data models, and shared services that product teams build upon.

You will design and evolve platform primitives, improve performance, and mentor teams while preserving product velocity and system reliability across NYC and SF engineering efforts.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of hands-on engineering experience building production systems at scale.

Responsibilities

• Scale, reliability, and performance improvements as concurrency grows.
• Define primitives and extension points to let product teams ship on shared infra and migrate existing consumers.
• Own execution and orchestration across the product, evolving how work is defined, scheduled, retried, and observed.
• Make the system legible with instrumentation to see run behavior at scale.
• Handle seams where two systems meet (input mapping, data access, accounting) and set engineering standards.
• Raise the bar by setting technical direction that teams inherit and review.
