Job summary

Clay is seeking a Software Engineer to join one of our Infrastructure or Platform teams. You’ll influence how work is executed at scale, ensure services handle concurrency, and help define the foundations that other product teams build on.

You’ll own execution, orchestration, and observability, shaping a foundation that enables product teams to ship faster while maintaining reliability and performance.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of hands-on engineering experience building and operating production systems at scale.
• Experience with distributed systems, concurrency, and scalable architectures.
• Strong belief that platforms are products and design for end-users.
• Enjoys both engineering and product management responsibilities.
• Excellent communication and collaboration across teams.
• Familiar with React, Typescript, Python, Node.js and cloud tooling.

Responsibilities

• Scale, reliability, and performance improvements across shared infrastructure.
• Define platform primitives and contracts for product teams to ship on shared infra.
• Own execution and orchestration, including scheduling and retries.
• Provide observable instrumentation and debuggability at scale.
• Collaborate across two-site teams (NYC and SF) in two-week sprints.
