Job summary

IronEagleX seeks a SME Platform Engineer to design, implement, and manage secure on-premises cloud infrastructure in Crystal City, VA. You will orchestrate Kubernetes-based compute clusters for AI/ML workloads, ensuring secure, scalable data science environments and robust CI/CD pipelines.

The role emphasizes GitOps practices, Keycloak/OPA-based identity, FIPS compliance, and deep Linux administration to support high-performance, compliant systems for government-focused data science initiatives.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of related experience in platform engineering or similar roles.
• Proven design, deployment and troubleshooting of production Kubernetes environments.
• Strong Linux system administration and CLI proficiency.
• Experience implementing authentication and authorization using Keycloak/OPA/OIDC.
• Hands-on with Git-based workflows, Helm, CI/CD and GitOps.
• Experience hosting data science/AI platforms (Posit Workbench/Connect, Hive Metastore).
• FIPS/compliance-focused security experience for regulated environments.

Responsibilities

• Architect, deploy, and manage on-premises cloud infrastructure using RKE2.
• Host and maintain data science environments and AI/ML infra (GPU, Ray, vLLM).
• Build and optimize CI/CD pipelines with Git, Helm, ArgoCD.
• Ensure security and compliance across environments, including vulnerability management.
• Manage identity and access with Keycloak/OPA and secure registries (Harbor, Docker Hub).
• Troubleshoot issues via CLI and maintain containerized workloads end-to-end.
