Job summary

Leidos in Bethesda seeks a seasoned platform engineer to design, develop, and optimize enterprise Kubernetes clusters powering AI for mission customers.

This 100% on-site role at the Intelligence Community Campus requires strong Linux skills, IaC with Terraform/Salt/Ansible, and Docker expertise. ATO compliance knowledge and DoD 8570.11 IAT Level II certification are required, with Level III preferred. NVIDIA GPUs and AWS experience are a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
• 5+ years in Platform Engineering or System Engineering.
• Strong expertise with Linux distributions (RHEL, Ubuntu, Oracle Linux, Rocky).
• Experience administering Kubernetes clusters, including deploying, scaling, and maintaining containerized workloads.
• Hands-on experience creating, managing, and troubleshooting Docker containers and container images.
• Experience with AI/ML workflow orchestration (Argo, Airflow, Kubeflow).
• Strong track record with RESTful APIs for integration and automation.
• DoD 8570.11 IAT Level II certification requirements (Security+ CE, CCNA-Security, GICSP, GSEC, SSCP) and ideally IAT Level III (CASP+, CCNP Security, CISA, CISSP, GCED, GCIH, CCSP).

Responsibilities

• Kubernetes Cluster Engineering: design, configure, and maintain enterprise Kubernetes platforms.
• Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, Salt, Ansible, Bash, Python.
• Collaborate with development teams to design secure, automated pipelines (GitLab CI/CD).
• Troubleshoot complex systems across cloud, network, and platform layers.
• Maintain technical documentation and support ATO compliance.
