Akkodis is partnering with a global automotive client to fill a Platform Engineer position in the Dearborn, MI area. The role combines software development with cloud infrastructure, focusing on automated infrastructure, scalable cloud solutions, secure enterprise environments, and self-service platform capabilities.

The contract opportunity requires 4 days onsite weekly. Pay range is $60/hr to $75/hr on a W2 basis, with negotiable factors based on experience and location.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate cloud technologies and containerization while standardizing configurations.
• Develop and maintain IaC solutions and automate provisioning.
• Design and support CI/CD pipelines for consistent deployments.
• Implement monitoring, observability, and auto-scaling based on demand.
• Incorporate security-first practices including IAM, encryption, and logging.
• Partner with development teams to integrate approved configurations into pipelines.
• Gather feedback to improve platform capabilities and user experience.
• Support operational excellence through troubleshooting and RCA.

Akkodis is proud to partner with a global automotive client who is seeking a Platform Engineer who can combine software development expertise with cloud infrastructure knowledge. The ideal candidate will have experience automating infrastructure, building scalable cloud solutions, supporting secure enterprise environments, and enabling development teams through self-service platform capabilities and modern DevOps practices for a contractual opportunity in the Dearborn, MI area (Requires 4 days onsite weekly)

Pay Range: $60/hr. - $75/hr. (W2) (Market) - The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with enterprise architects, software architects, and engineering teams to design and maintain enterprise platform infrastructure, including servers, networks, storage, databases, and cloud services.
• Build, deploy, and manage infrastructure that supports platform services and developer tooling.
• Perform infrastructure upgrades, security patching, and system performance improvements to ensure platform stability and reliability.
• Evaluate and implement cloud technologies, containerization platforms, and infrastructure services while creating reusable, standardized configurations for application teams.
• Develop and maintain Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) solutions and automate provisioning, configuration, and deployment processes.
• Design and support CI/CD pipelines that improve deployment consistency, traceability, and operational efficiency.
• Implement monitoring, observability, performance management, and automated scaling solutions based on service demand and business requirements.
• Incorporate security-first practices, including identity and access management, network segmentation, encryption, logging, monitoring, backup, and disaster recovery capabilities.
• Partner with development teams to integrate enterprise-approved configurations and best practices into deployment pipelines.
• Advocate for platform enhancements by gathering feedback from developers and stakeholders to continuously improve platform capabilities and user experience.
• Support operational excellence through troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
• 6+ years of overall IT experience.
• 4+ years of software development and/or platform engineering experience.
• Practical experience in at least two programming languages or advanced expertise in one programming language.
• Experience designing and supporting cloud-based infrastructure solutions.
