Job summary

SGS Consulting in Springfield, IL seeks an experienced DevOps/Infrastructure Engineer to migrate legacy Windows workloads to modern Windows Server 2022+, manage IIS-hosted apps, and secure IaaS environments.

You will design CI/CD pipelines, implement IaC, modernize monitoring and Azure-based workloads, and collaborate across development, security, and operations teams to ensure reliable, scalable platforms.

Qualifications

• 4+ years in DevOps, infrastructure engineering, or related roles.
• Experience migrating legacy workloads to modern environments.
• IIS administration and application deployment.
• Windows Server administration.
• CI/CD pipeline design and maintenance (TeamCity, Octopus Deploy, or comparable tools).
• PowerShell scripting for automation.
• Experience working in Azure or hybrid cloud environments.
• Solid understanding of networking fundamentals and Active Directory.
• Familiarity with .NET application environments.

Responsibilities

• Migrate applications from legacy Windows Server environments to modern Windows Server versions (2022+).
• Manage and maintain IIS-hosted applications and Windows Services.
• Ensure stability, performance, and security of IaaS-based environments.
• Support SQL Server connectivity, configuration, and service account management.
• Design and maintain CI/CD pipelines with TeamCity/Octopus Deploy or similar tools.
• Improve deployment reliability and release processes.
• Contribute to Infrastructure-as-Code standards and practices.
• Reduce manual tasks through scripting and automation.
• Participate in modernization initiatives and observability improvements.
• Assist in Azure-based workloads and hybrid environments.
• Document environments, architecture decisions, and operational processes.
• Collaborate with development, security, infrastructure and project teams.
• Troubleshoot and perform root cause analysis for production incidents.
