Speechify is a distributed, remote-first company building text-to-speech tools that help people read faster and remember more. We design and maintain backend services covering payments, analytics, subscriptions, and TTS, with a focus on scalability and a seamless user experience.

You will influence architecture decisions and collaborate across teams to deliver robust APIs for enterprise clients. We value autonomy, initiative, and delivering fast results in a highly asynchronous culture.

Qualifications

• Proven backend development experience with TS/Node.
• Experience with GCP and knowledge of AWS/Azure or other cloud providers.
• Experience with containerized deployments (Docker).
• Familiarity with Kubernetes for deploying high-availability applications.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain robust APIs including public TTS API, internal APIs like Payment, Subscription, Auth and Consumption Tracking, ensuring they meet business and scalability requirements.
• Oversee the full backend API landscape, enhancing and optimizing for performance and maintainability.
• Collaborate on B2B solutions, focusing on customization and integration needs for enterprise clients.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams to align backend architecture with overall product strategy and user experience.
