Speechify is seeking a Backend Engineer to design, build, and maintain robust APIs (public TTS, Payment, Subscription, Auth, analytics) that scale for enterprise clients.

You will own backend architecture in a fast-paced, async-first environment, collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver reliable services and great user experiences. This role is remote in the United States and offers significant impact and growth.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in backend development: TS/Node (required).
• Direct experience with GCP and knowledge of AWS, Azure, or other cloud providers.
• Efficiency in ideation and implementation, prioritizing tasks based on urgency and impact.
• Preferred: Docker and containerized deployments.
• Preferred: Deploying high-availability applications on Kubernetes.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain robust APIs including public TTS API, internal APIs like Payment, Subscription, Auth and Consumption Tracking.
• Oversee the full backend API landscape, optimizing for performance and maintainability.
• Collaborate on B2B solutions for enterprise clients and integration needs.
• Work with cross-functional teams to align backend architecture with product strategy.
