Job summary

Stripe is seeking a Software Engineer for the Operator Tooling team in the United States. You will build and improve platforms used by Stripe’s operations teams, spanning backend systems and ML engines, turning complex needs into reliable tools and integrations while partnering with internal users to enhance their workflows.

You will own problems end to end, help shape the team’s vision, mentor peers, and ensure production readiness and observability.

Qualifications

3+ years of software engineering experience.
Experience across frontend and backend in the full software development lifecycle.
Ability to write high-quality, well-tested code with production observability.
Familiarity with AI-driven development workflows.
Empathy for internal and external users and a focus on improving their experience.
Proven ability to integrate diverse services and processes.

Responsibilities

Own problems from end to end, collaborating with stakeholders on impact, reliability and operability.
Contribute to the product roadmap, help shape the team’s vision and strategy.
Uphold Stripe’s high standards for engineering and product quality.
Mentor newer team members and help them grow.
Work with multiple Stripe teams to balance competing needs and priorities.
Keep systems running smoothly and scale with an impact-first mindset.
