Apple, Inc. is seeking a Performance Control Software Engineer to measure, analyze and control the relationship between power and performance in Apple’s silicon across all platforms.

You will design experiments, build instrumentation, and prototype in-kernel algorithms while collaborating with OS, hardware, and application teams to productize performance control for hundreds of millions of devices. The role requires a BS in a relevant field and experience with OS design; preferred MS and kernel

Formación

• BS in Computer Science, Electrical and Computer Engineering or similar engineering degree.
• Academic or practical experience with operating system design and implementation.

Responsabilidades

• Participate in design, prototyping, implementation and code review of kernel features related to performance control, power management and scheduling.
• Design and conduct experiments to characterize execution efficiency and the effects of physical constraints such as temperature or power delivery.
• Use empirical methodology to illuminate power–performance tradeoffs.
• Influence cross-functional teams across processor architecture, silicon engineering, system integration, OS development and application performance evaluation.
• Find opportunities to improve measurement and control capabilities of Apple silicon.
