Job summary

The Department of Innovation & Technology (DoIT) is seeking an Application Architecture & Platform Engineering Lead to drive enterprise software quality, optimize Azure platform operations, and lead complex project teams in delivering secure, scalable mission-critical applications for the Illinois State Police.

This role requires strong architectural oversight, DevOps discipline, and hands-on experience with cloud-native architectures.

Qualifications

• Requires four years of college with coursework in CS or related field.
• Requires three years of professional IT experience in Application Services or related field.

Responsibilities

• Serve as Application Architecture & Platform Engineering Lead for ISP projects.
• Provide DevOps and Azure Platform support by managing Azure DevOps pipelines and resources.
• Provide architectural guidance and technology recommendations aligning with business needs.
• Lead highly complex projects and coordinate technical tasks across teams.
• Pursue ongoing education to stay current on tools, methods and industry trends.
